Before hitting the publish button or posting an update on the social media, what do you do?

Its very important to deliver your audience with utmost value and in return receive their maximum engagement. This article gives you super easy checklist to make your social media update become wildly successful, viral and be valuable.

The 7 Step Social Media Checklist

1. Is the message educational or entertaining?

The most valuable content on social media generally has one of the two components, its either educational or its entertaining.  Some of the questions that can be helpful to determine the educational/entertaining aspect of the your social media post are:

  • Is your content interesting enough that users pass it on and post about it?
  • Will anyone really care about this content besides me?
  • If you were to see this post in your social media timeline, would you pause to read or reshare
  • Does your post add value for the reader?

2. Is the voice correct?

Your social media content should have a consistency in its tone and voice. All your social media messages should be helpful, positive and actionable. The voice can also be determined by the words and pronouns you use, so one should always try to use language which is easy to understand. This would lead to others resharing your post.

Hashtags can be used to start a trend and gain visibility for your brand. You can direct all your customers to these posts if they are interested in a particular subject. You can have people participate in the contest buy putting pictures or videos or buy answering any questions, all using the same hashtag and you can give them someting from your brand  maybe a small gift or a discount voucher to shop at your brand.

3. Be as Visual as Possible

Share as many videos and pictures not only of your products but also how they are made and the team involved in making them. You get your team in the forefront by posting and sharing anything interesting done by them. It is easier to get attention by visual images rather than by texts.

Share personal information about yourself and your brand. It will help portray a character to your audience and help in connecting with them. People want to see a real person behind any brand, which gives a personal touch to any brand.

5. Ask Questions and talk with your customers

You should always ask questions from people in order to get them engaged. Their participation will help promote your brand and get your brand more popular among their friends. Whenever you have a question coming from your customers make sure you respond to it.

There could be a definite chance that you must have not noticed the Retargeting marketing happening on different social medias, but i am sure you all have experienced it. It simply happens when you visit a particular site and the ads showing the products of that site keep appearing on your window, when you are browsing other things.

What is Retargeting?

It is one of the most popular strategy that would help the online retail brands. It basically lets your ads follow the people around the web, who have visited your particular website. For instance, the leather designer in New Zealand have their retail shops and online shopping on their websites too. The people who visit their website and go to their online shopping page are obviously interested in their brand or products, so once they leave the page , you can retarget them with ads with specific message convincing them to visit your website again.

There are a couple of cost-effective ways in which you could do retargeting for your brand :-

Why should you use Retargeting for your Business?

One should use retargeting for their business as it helps in bringing back bounced traffic and customers who have abandoned their shopping carts and left your site. It is very useful for e-commerce companies but they are not the only ones benefitting from it. For instance, designer could use retargeting to increase traffic on their websites, so that more people get to know about them, their brand and the products offered by them. If the retargeting is done rightfully, it would also help in increasing the conversion rate for that particular designer brand.

Instead of explaining your products and brand to the viewers, in retargeting you can directly show them good deals and great stuff, forcing them to get back to your website and shop more.

Ways in which you can Retarget your viewers are:

  • Buy providing them free sample product with the purchase of their main product. For instance, if a buyer is buying a leather bag , you could give her a leather tassel charmer which could be hanged on the outside of the bag.
  • Provide discount on shipping or free shipping on the their purchase.
  • Cross-selling to your existing customers. For instance, people buying a leather bag from a particular collection, you could offer them a leather wallet from the same collection which would be a perfect match to their bag.
  • By creating general ads for all your website visitors and Remarketing them.
